Alongside my private practice experience, I have worked as a volunteer counsellor for Age UK and Parent Time, which was also a voluntary organisation helping parents manage the difficulties and anxieties of family life. I also presently work with children within the school setting, helping children with difficult home lives and anxieties to help them understand their feelings through the process of talking and art therapy.
I originally trained and practiced as a Landscape Architect before becoming a mother of three. Motherhood enabled a change in direction for me to work in a supporting role, both in Education and for a Surrey based Family Mediation Service and so trained as a Counsellor to be able to offer empathy and understanding to those in need of extra support we all need from time to time.
I am fully insured, DBS checked and a registered Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy. (MBACP) I work within the guidelines of The Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. My work is regularly supervised by a qualified supervisor.
